Journey Through An Exploration of Sound and Mind With Makzo’s Debut EP ‘Anecdotes’

Whether you prefer their 24/7 Chillhop Radio or mixes, it’s safe to say you’ve stumbled upon Chillhop Music by now. If their extensive fanbase isn’t proof enough, just click on one track released off the label and try not to be instantly hooked.

Go ahead; I’ll wait.

Zack Mortimer, also known as Makzo, releases his debut EP ‘Anecdotes’ through Chillhop Music. From the very first track, I’m reminded of those warm sunny days when I kick on my record player and straight vibe-out. Halfway through the EP, and I feel like I’ve just overcome one of the deepest hardships of my life and am now stronger and happier because of it.

Together, the six tracks are more like an exploration of sound and texture than an EP – to say the least. By the end, ‘Anecdotes’ is sure to touch every one of your senses.

When asked to describe his perspective on the EP, Zack mentioned that each track corresponds to a vivid, profound memory from his past. Knowing this connects the dots for the EP’s title.

His hope for the EP is that the songs trigger the same nostalgia and reminiscence in the listener as well.

Listeners can enjoy the exploratory experience on December 14th when ‘Anecdotes’ drops on all platforms. And trust me, you don’t want to miss these lush synths, pianos and guitars, cinematic strings, and crisp drums.

Think of the perfect combination of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic elements.
